Today, the Partnership for Employer-Sponsored Coverage released a stakeholder letter signed by over 150 national, state and local employers and employment organizations endorsing the bipartisan Employee Flexibility Act - S. 1510/H.R. 2782. The letter, addressed to sponsors Senators Todd Young (R-IN), Joe Manchin (D-WV), John Barrasso (R-WY) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) and Representatives Jackie Walorski (R-IN), Dan Lipinski (D-IL), Mike Kelly (R-PA) and Collin Peterson (D-MN), stressed the need to align federal full-time employee health care definition with the Fair Labor Standards Act level of 40 hours to enable variable workforce and part-time employees to pick-up and trade shifts. Providing employees with flexibility enables them to gain hours and increase their paychecks.
