Employer Coalition Requests COVID-Related Policy Relief from Administration, Congress

This week, the Partnership for Employer-Sponsored Coverage sent a letter to federal departments and Congress on benefits, compliance, and operational issues regarding employer-sponsored coverage that the Administration and congressional leaders should consider as further relief measures and actions are taken to address the COVID pandemic. The letter was addressed to Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, Labor Secretary Eugene Scalia and Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer and House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy.

The letter highlights initial compliance-related issues the Coalition gathered from input received from employers. The list of issues is not comprehensive nor does it reflect issues that will arise as businesses reopen and a new phase of dealing with the unprecedented global pandemic begins.
